SUS316Ti is an austenitic 17/12/2.5 chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel stabilized with titanium to prevent carbide precipitation at grain boundaries during welding or prolonged exposure to 425–815°C. It offers pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) of 23–28, excellent general corrosion resistance in chlorides, acids, and marine atmospheres, while providing superior intergranular corrosion (IGC) resistance compared to unstabilized SUS316.
Non-magnetic in the annealed state, SUS316Ti maintains good toughness at cryogenic temperatures and oxidation resistance up to ~870°C intermittent.
