GB/T 713 / GB/T 713.2 covers non-alloy and alloy steel plates with specified temperature properties for boilers and pressure vessels. ASTM A533/A533M (ASME SA533) covers quenched and tempered Mn-Mo and Mn-Mo-Ni alloy steel plates for welded pressure vessels. ASTM designates Types A–E; commercial orders commonly say Grades A/B/C/D. ASTM A553 / ASME SA553 7% 8% 9% Nickel Quenched & Tempered Plates | ||
ASTM A553/A553M (ASME SA553/SA553M) covers 9%, 8% and 7% nickel alloy steel plates, water quenched and tempered, for welded pressure vessels in cryogenic service. The current edition (A553/A553M-22) defines three types: Type I (9% Ni, Charpy at -320°F [-196°C]), Type II (8% Ni, -275°F [-170°C]) and Type III (7% Ni, -320°F [-196°C]). All three share 100–120 ksi [690–825 MPa] tensile, 85 ksi [585 MPa] min yield and 20% min elongation. Gangsteel produces and exports all three types. EN 10028-4 Nickel Alloy Steel Plates with Specified Low Temperature Properties | |||

EN 10028-4:2017 (supersedes EN 10028-4:2009) specifies flat products for pressure equipment made of nickel alloy steels with specified low-temperature impact properties. The current edition covers seven grades: 11MnNi5-3 (1.6212) and 13MnNi6-3 (1.6217) 0.5% Ni normalized grades for about -60°C, 15NiMn6 (1.6228) 1.5% Ni to -80°C, 12Ni14 (1.5637) 3.5% Ni to -100°C, X12Ni5 (1.5680) 5% Ni to about -120°C, and the 9% Ni grades X8Ni9 (1.5662, +NT640 / +QT640 / +QT680) and X7Ni9 (1.5663, +QT) for LNG service at -196°C.
