Gangsteel is a leading manufacturer and global exporter of GB/T 4237 06Cr19Ni10 stainless steel hot-rolled coils, plates, and wide heavy plates. Known worldwide as Grade 304 — the most versatile and widely used austenitic stainless steel — 06Cr19Ni10 delivers outstanding general corrosion resistance, excellent formability, superior weldability, and proven performance across food processing, chemical equipment, architectural, pharmaceutical, and pressure vessel applications.
With the classic 18/8 composition (18% Cr, 8–10.5% Ni), it forms a stable passive chromium oxide layer that self-heals in oxidizing conditions, providing reliable protection in atmospheric, fresh water, mild acid/organic, and food environments. Gangsteel supplies 06Cr19Ni10 under GB/T 4237-2015 (Stainless Steel Hot-Rolled Sheets and Strips) in thicknesses from 2 mm to 500 mm and widths up to 4200 mm — among the widest hot-rolling capabilities available globally. Our products are offered in standard hot-rolled finishes No.1 (annealed & pickled) and 2D (annealed & pickled dull) and are exported to over 60 countries for demanding industrial and commercial projects.
Gangsteel operates state-of-the-art wide heavy-plate mills capable of producing 06Cr19Ni10 in extra-wide and extra-thick dimensions, enabling single-piece fabrication of large tanks, pressure vessels, and structural panels. We maintain strict control over chemistry, surface quality, and dimensional tolerances, ensuring every coil and plate meets or exceeds GB/T 4237 requirements.

Key Insight: 06Cr19Ni10 (304) is the benchmark austenitic grade with excellent versatility and global acceptance.
Gangsteel's hot-rolling process for 06Cr19Ni10 includes:
Thickness range: 2 mm – 500 mm Width range: up to 4200 mm Length: up to 18 m (plate) or coil form
Finishes: No.1 (annealed & pickled), 2D (annealed & pickled dull)
All compliant with GB/T 4237-2015; optional third-party certification (SGS, TUV, BV).
Forms stable Cr oxide layer; resists rust in fresh water, mild acids, organics, and atmospheres. Oxidation resistance up to ~870°C intermittent.
Excellent weldability with TIG/MIG/resistance/laser; low carbon minimizes sensitization. Use ER308/ER308L fillers. High ductility supports complex forming.
Every heat is tested for chemistry, mechanical properties, surface quality, and dimensions. Full MTRs (EN 10204 3.1) and third-party certification available.
Coils eye-to-wall/eye-to-sky on steel pallets; plates bundled with skids; seaworthy export packaging with waterproof wrapping and edge protection.
Q1: What is the main difference between 304 (06Cr19Ni10) and 304L (022Cr19Ni10)?
A: 304 has carbon ≤0.08%, while 304L has ≤0.030%. 304L offers better weld-zone corrosion resistance and is preferred for welded structures; 304 is used when higher strength is needed and welding is minimal.
Q2: Can 06Cr19Ni10 be used in coastal or chloride-containing environments?
A: Suitable for mild exposure, but for long-term marine or high-chloride service, 316L or 444 is recommended for superior pitting resistance.
Q3: What finishes are available under GB/T 4237 for hot-rolled 304?
A: Standard finishes are No.1 (annealed & pickled) and 2D (annealed & pickled dull). No.1 is most common for further processing.
Q4: What is the maximum width and thickness Gangsteel can produce for 06Cr19Ni10?
A: Up to 4200 mm wide and 500 mm thick in hot-rolled plates; coils typically 2–25 mm thick.
Q5: Is 304 weldable? What filler should be used?
A: Yes, excellent weldability. Use ER308 or ER308L fillers for matching properties.
Q6: Does Gangsteel offer third-party inspection for GB/T 4237 304 material?
A: Yes — SGS, TUV, BV, or customer-nominated agencies are welcome at any stage.
Q7: What is the lead time for hot-rolled 06Cr19Ni10 coils or plates?
A: Standard sizes from stock: 7–15 days. Custom wide/heavy plates: 25–45 days depending on thickness and quantity.
Q8: Can Gangsteel provide 304 with BA or 2B finish?
A: Hot-rolled material is No.1 or 2D. For BA or 2B, we supply cold-rolled versions under GB/T 3280.
