Gangsteel is a leading manufacturer and global exporter of GB/T 4237 06Cr18Ni11Nb stainless steel hot-rolled coils, plates, and wide heavy plates. Internationally recognized as Grade 347 — a classic niobium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel — 06Cr18Ni11Nb is specifically engineered to provide excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding or prolonged exposure to temperatures in the 425–815°C (800–1500°F) sensitization range.
With 17–19% Cr, 9–13% Ni, and niobium stabilization (Nb ≥ 10 × C), 347 prevents chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries, maintaining full corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone without the need for post-weld annealing in most applications. It offers general corrosion resistance comparable to 304 in atmospheric, mild chemical, and organic environments, combined with superior high-temperature oxidation resistance and creep strength up to 870°C intermittent.
Produced under GB/T 4237-2015 (Stainless Steel Hot-Rolled Sheets and Strips), Gangsteel supplies 06Cr18Ni11Nb in thicknesses from 2 mm to 500 mm and widths up to 4200 mm — one of the widest hot-rolling capabilities available worldwide. Our products are delivered in standard hot-rolled finishes No.1 (annealed & pickled) and 2D (annealed & pickled dull) and are exported globally to petrochemical, power generation, aerospace, heat exchanger, furnace, exhaust system, and high-temperature piping industries.
Gangsteel’s wide heavy-plate rolling mills enable single-piece production of large heat exchanger tubesheets, furnace parts, exhaust manifolds, and welded piping spools, minimizing welds and improving long-term intergranular corrosion resistance. We maintain precise niobium-to-carbon ratio control and solution annealing to deliver consistent stabilization and high-temperature performance.

Key Insight: 06Cr18Ni11Nb (347) provides excellent intergranular corrosion resistance at 425–815°C due to niobium stabilization, outperforming unstabilized 304 in welded high-temperature service.
Gangsteel's hot-rolling process for 06Cr18Ni11Nb includes:
Thickness range: 2 mm – 500 mm Width range: up to 4200 mm Length: up to 18 m (plate) or coil form
Finishes: No.1 (annealed & pickled), 2D (annealed & pickled dull)
All compliant with GB/T 4237-2015; optional third-party certification (SGS, TUV, BV).
Forms stable Cr oxide layer; resists atmospheric, mild acids, and organics. Niobium stabilization eliminates intergranular corrosion risk in sensitized range. Oxidation resistance up to ~870°C intermittent.
Excellent weldability with TIG/MIG/resistance/laser; niobium prevents sensitization. Use ER347 fillers. High ductility supports complex forming.
Every heat is tested for chemistry, mechanical properties, surface quality, and dimensions. Full MTRs (EN 10204 3.1) and third-party certification available.
Coils eye-to-wall/eye-to-sky on steel pallets; plates bundled with skids; seaworthy export packaging with waterproof wrapping and edge protection.
Q1: What is the main advantage of 347 (06Cr18Ni11Nb) over 304?
A: 347 is niobium-stabilized to prevent intergranular corrosion after welding or exposure to 425–815°C, making it suitable for high-temperature welded structures where 304 would be at risk of sensitization.
Q2: Can 06Cr18Ni11Nb be used in chloride-containing environments?
A: It has similar general corrosion resistance to 304 — moderate in mild chlorides — but not recommended for long-term marine or high-chloride service. Use 316L or 317L for better pitting resistance.
Q3: What finishes are available under GB/T 4237 for hot-rolled 347?
A: Standard finishes are No.1 (annealed & pickled) and 2D (annealed & pickled dull). No.1 is most common for further processing.
Q4: What is the maximum width and thickness Gangsteel can produce for 06Cr18Ni11Nb?
A: Up to 4200 mm wide and 500 mm thick in hot-rolled plates; coils typically 2–25 mm thick.
Q5: Is 347 weldable? What filler should be used?
A: Yes, excellent weldability. Use ER347 fillers to match the niobium stabilization.
Q6: Does Gangsteel offer third-party inspection for GB/T 4237 347 material?
A: Yes — SGS, TUV, BV, or customer-nominated agencies are welcome at any stage.
Q7: What is the lead time for hot-rolled 06Cr18Ni11Nb coils or plates?
A: Standard sizes from stock: 7–15 days. Custom wide/heavy plates: 25–45 days depending on thickness and quantity.
Q8: Can Gangsteel provide 347 with BA or 2B finish?
A: Hot-rolled material is No.1 or 2D. For BA or 2B, we supply cold-rolled versions under GB/T 3280.
