Gangsteel is a leading manufacturer and global exporter of premium JIS G4305 SUS410 cold rolled stainless steel coils, sheets, and strips. As a general-purpose martensitic grade (Grade 410 or UNS S41000), SUS410 offers good corrosion resistance, high strength and hardness after heat treatment, moderate oxidation resistance up to 650–700°C (1200–1300°F), and excellent wear resistance. With 11.5–13.5% chromium and controlled carbon (≤0.15%), it is the most widely used hardenable stainless steel, providing a cost-effective balance of properties for applications requiring higher strength than austenitic grades while maintaining basic corrosion protection.
Our precision cold rolling facilities produce SUS410 with superior surface finishes (2B, BA, No.4, HL), tight tolerances (±0.02 mm), and consistent properties fully compliant with JIS G4305 (Cold-rolled stainless steel plate, sheet and strip). Equivalent to ASTM A240 Type 410, EN 1.4006 (X12Cr13), and GB 10Cr13 or 1Cr13, Gangsteel's SUS410 products serve industries worldwide including cutlery, machine parts, valves, pump shafts, turbine blades, petrochemical equipment, and automotive components.
This comprehensive product introduction details every aspect of our JIS G4305 SUS410 cold rolled stainless steel — from composition and properties (in tables) to manufacturing, applications, advantages, and why Gangsteel is your trusted partner for reliable, hardenable stainless supply.
SUS410 is a martensitic chromium stainless steel that can be hardened by heat treatment (quenching and tempering) to achieve high tensile strength (up to 1500+ MPa), excellent wear resistance, and moderate corrosion resistance in mild environments. It is magnetic in all conditions and provides good machinability in the annealed state. While not as corrosion-resistant as austenitic grades like SUS304 or SUS316, SUS410 performs well in fresh water, steam, mild acids, and atmospheres with low chloride exposure.
Gangsteel specializes in cold rolled SUS410, delivering material in annealed condition suitable for further heat treatment or light forming, with options for hardened/tempered properties upon customer request.

SUS410 is the benchmark martensitic grade for hardenability and moderate corrosion resistance.
Gangsteel's process: hot rolling to intermediate thickness, annealing/pickling, multi-pass cold reduction in precision mills, final annealing/skin pass for annealed condition, slitting/edge trimming. Thickness: 0.3–3.0 mm (coils/sheets). Width: 600–1524 mm. In-line controls ensure tight tolerances and superior surfaces.
Finishes: 2B (standard matte), BA (bright annealed), No.4/HL (brushed). Protective films and custom slitting available. Material supplied annealed; heat treatment optional.
Compliant with JIS G4305; optional ASTM A240/EN cross-certification. Tolerances per JIS or tighter.
Key Applications of SUS410 Cold Rolled Products
SUS410 excels in applications requiring hardness, wear resistance, and moderate corrosion protection:
Cutlery and Tools
Machine and Valve Parts
Automotive and Aerospace
Other Uses
Its hardenability suits high-wear, moderate-corrosion environments.
Advantages of Choosing SUS410 Stainless Steel
Corrosion and Oxidation Resistance
Moderate resistance to atmospheric corrosion, fresh water, steam, and mild acids; lower in chlorides/acids than austenitics. Oxidation resistance up to ~700°C continuous; good in hot corrosion environments.
Weldability and Fabrication
Fair weldability; pre-heat/post-weld heat treatment recommended to avoid cracking. Use matching fillers (ER410). Annealed state allows good forming/machining; hardening post-fabrication.
