SUS444 is a high-performance ferritic stainless steel containing 17–20% chromium and 1.75–2.50% molybdenum, stabilized with titanium, niobium, or zirconium. It provides pitting resistance far superior to standard SUS430 and approaches SUS316 in many chloride-containing applications, while offering the cost and thermal conductivity advantages of ferritic grades. The ultra-low carbon content and stabilization prevent intergranular corrosion and sensitization after welding or heat exposure.
