The density of 430 stainless steel is a key physical property that remains constant regardless of cold-rolled condition, finish (2B, BA, NO.4, etc.), or thickness.
Density: 7.70 g/cm³ (7700 kg/m³)
This value is the same across all major standards (ASTM A240, JIS G4305, EN 10088-2, GB/T 3280, etc.) and applies to both annealed and cold-rolled states. The relatively low density compared to austenitic grades like 304 (8.00 g/cm³) makes 430 an excellent choice for weight-sensitive applications while still delivering good strength and corrosion resistance.
