430 stainless steel (AISI 430 / UNS S43000) is a ferritic grade that offers significantly higher thermal conductivity than austenitic grades such as 304 or 316. This property makes it particularly suitable for heat exchangers, appliances, and thermal management components.

These values are typical and consistent across all major standards (ASTM A240, JIS G4305, EN 10088-2, GB/T 3280, etc.). The thermal conductivity of 430 is approximately 60–70% higher than austenitic stainless steels (e.g., 304 is ~16 W/m·K at room temperature), which reduces thermal gradients and improves heat dissipation.
