S460ML+Z35is a thermomechanically rolled (TMCP) weldable fine-grain structural steel under EN 10025-4:2004 (2019 revision) with additional Z35 through-thickness quality per EN 10164 Class 3.
Z35 quality prevents lamellar tearing in highly stressed welded joints where tension acts perpendicular to the plate surface (T-joints, cruciform welds, gusset plates, jacket leg nodes, etc.).
