EN10025-4 S355M is a thermomechanically rolled (TMCP) weldable fine-grain high strength structural steel with:
S355M is the standard-temperature version of the popular EN 10025-4 family. It is the direct TMCP alternative to normalized S355N (EN 10025-3) and the sister grade to the low-temperature bestseller en 10025 4 s355ml steel plate (–50 °C).
When service temperature stays above –20 °C, S355M offers the same high strength as S355ML at a lower price and with identical chemistry and weldability.

S355M is widely used when the service temperature is above –20 °C:
When the temperature drops below –20 °C, the low-temperature version S355ML is required.
Q1: S355M vs S355ML difference?A: Only impact test temperature. S355M = –20 °C (≥40 J), S355ML = –50 °C (≥27 J). Strength, chemistry, weldability identical.
Q2: Preheating required?A: No preheat up to 80 mm thickness. >80 mm: 75–100 °C max.
Q3: Z35 availability?A: Yes – large stock of S355M + Z35 ready for immediate delivery.
Q4: Density and hardness?A: Density 7.85 g/cm³, hardness 140–180 HBW.
