  • DIN EN 1.4016(Germany)
  • GB/T 3280 10Cr17 / 1Cr17(China)
  • BS 1449 430S17(United Kingdom)
  • ISO 4954 X6Cr17(International)

Whether you need JIS, ASTM, EN, GB, or any combination of these standards, Gangsteel delivers consistent quality, full traceability, and competitive pricing from our advanced Chinese production facilities.

What Is 430 BA Bright Annealed Stainless Steel Coil?

430 BA bright annealed stainless steel coil is a nickel-free ferritic grade (16–18% Cr) that delivers a highly reflective, mirror-like surface through controlled bright annealing in a hydrogen-nitrogen atmosphere after cold rolling. This process prevents oxidation and scaling, resulting in an ultra-clean surface with excellent gloss (70–90%) and Ra values typically below 0.1 μm. The BA finish eliminates the need for additional polishing, providing both aesthetic appeal and superior corrosion resistance.

As a straight-chromium alloy, 430 BA coil offers an economical yet reliable solution compared to austenitic grades like 304. It combines good atmospheric corrosion resistance, outstanding thermal conductivity (approximately 26 W/m·K), low thermal expansion, and full magnetic properties, making it the preferred choice for visible and decorative applications.

Chemical Composition

Our 430 BA coils strictly conform to the chemical limits of all listed standards:

Element

Content (wt%)

Carbon (C)

≤0.12

Chromium (Cr)

16.00–18.00

Manganese (Mn)

≤1.00

Silicon (Si)

≤1.00

Phosphorus (P)

≤0.040

Sulfur (S)

≤0.030

Nickel (Ni)

≤0.75

This precise chemistry ensures a stable chromium-oxide passive layer and prevents excessive carbide formation.

Mechanical Properties

Typical mechanical properties in the annealed condition (standard for BA finish coils):

Property

Value

Yield Strength (0.2% offset)

≥205 MPa

Tensile Strength

≥450 MPa

Elongation (50 mm gauge)

≥22%

Hardness (Rockwell B)

≤89 HRB

Hardness (Brinell)

≤183 HB

These values deliver excellent formability for deep drawing, bending, and stamping while maintaining sufficient strength for structural and decorative uses.

Available Specifications and Finishes

Gangsteel offers 430 BA bright annealed stainless steel coil in the following standard range (custom sizes available upon request):

  • Thickness: 0.25 mm – 3.0 mm (up to 6 mm on request)
  • Width: 600 mm – 2000 mm (slit or mill edge)
  • Coil ID: 508 mm or 610 mm
  • Coil weight: 5–25 tons

The BA finish provides the highest reflectivity and cleanliness. All coils are protected with PVC/PE film and paper interleaving to prevent scratching during transit.

Manufacturing Process at Gangsteel

Our production begins with high-purity AOD-refined material to achieve exact chemistry. Hot rolling is followed by cold rolling on 20-high Sendzimir or 4-high mills for superior thickness uniformity (±0.03 mm). Bright annealing in a controlled hydrogen-nitrogen atmosphere prevents oxidation and creates the signature mirror-like BA surface. Final skin-passing and inspection using eddy-current and AI visual systems guarantee defect-free material. Every batch undergoes third-party testing (SGS, TUV, BV) for full traceability.

For customers requiring the same high-quality material in other finishes or forms, we recommend our a240 Type_430 stainless steel sheet, EN10088 2 X6Cr17 stainless steel sheet, DIN 1.4016 stainless steel sheet, GB/T 10Cr17 1Cr17 stainless steel sheet, or JIS G4305 SUS 430 stainless steel sheet.

Key Advantages of Gangsteel 430 BA Coil

  • Mirror-like brightnesswithout secondary polishing
  • Cost efficiency— nickel-free composition reduces price by 30–50% versus SUS304
  • Superior thermal properties— higher conductivity and lower expansion than austenitics
  • Excellent formability— high ductility for complex deep drawing
  • Magnetic— easy automated handling and separation
  • Consistent quality— ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified processes

Wide Range of Applications

430 BA bright annealed stainless steel coil is the material of choice for:
