  • JIS G4305 SUS430(Japan)
  • ASTM A240 Type 430(USA)
  • EN 10088-2 1.4016 / X6Cr17(Europe)
  • DIN EN 1.4016(Germany)
  • GB/T 3280 10Cr17 / 1Cr17(China)
  • BS 1449 430S17(United Kingdom)
  • ISO 4954 X6Cr17(International)

Whether you need JIS, ASTM, EN, GB, or any combination of these standards, Gangsteel delivers consistent quality, full traceability, and competitive pricing from our advanced Chinese production facilities.

What Is 430 Stainless Steel Sheet with 2B Finish?

The 2B finish is the most widely used industrial surface for 430 stainless steel sheet. It is produced by cold rolling followed by annealing and pickling, then a light skin-pass on polished rolls. This results in a smooth, slightly reflective matte silver-gray appearance (Ra 0.1–0.5 μm) that is uniform, clean, and free of scale. Unlike the mirror-like BA finish, 2B offers excellent corrosion resistance due to the pickled surface while remaining cost-effective and easy to fabricate.

As a nickel-free ferritic grade, 430 2B sheet provides an economical alternative to austenitic grades such as 304. It combines good atmospheric corrosion resistance, superior thermal conductivity (approximately 26 W/m·K), low thermal expansion, and full magnetic properties, making it the preferred choice for both functional and decorative applications.

Chemical Composition

Our 430 2B sheets strictly conform to the chemical limits of all listed standards:

Element

Content (wt%)

Carbon (C)

≤0.12

Chromium (Cr)

16.00–18.00

Manganese (Mn)

≤1.00

Silicon (Si)

≤1.00

Phosphorus (P)

≤0.040

Sulfur (S)

≤0.030

Nickel (Ni)

≤0.75

This precise chemistry ensures a stable chromium-oxide passive layer and prevents excessive carbide formation.

Mechanical Properties

Typical mechanical properties in the annealed condition (standard for 2B finish sheets):

Property

Value

Yield Strength (0.2% offset)

≥205 MPa

Tensile Strength

≥450 MPa

Elongation (50 mm gauge)

≥22%

Hardness (Rockwell B)

≤89 HRB

Hardness (Brinell)

≤183 HB

These values deliver excellent formability for deep drawing, bending, and stamping while maintaining sufficient strength for structural and decorative uses.

Available Specifications and Finishes

Gangsteel offers 430 2B sheets in the following standard range (custom sizes available upon request):

  • Thickness: 0.3 mm – 3.0 mm (up to 6 mm on request)
  • Width: 600 mm – 2000 mm (slit or mill edge)
  • Length: Up to 6000 mm for sheets; also available in coil form
  • Tolerance: Thickness ±0.03 mm, width ±0.5 mm, flatness ≤8 mm/m

While we also produce BA, No.4, and HL finishes, the 2B finish remains the industry standard for cost-effective industrial and structural applications. All sheets are protected with PVC or PE film to prevent scratching during transit.

Manufacturing Process at Gangsteel

Our production begins with high-purity AOD-refined material to achieve exact chemistry. Hot rolling is followed by cold rolling on 20-high Sendzimir or 4-high mills for superior thickness uniformity. Annealing occurs in continuous furnaces under controlled atmosphere, followed by pickling and a light skin-pass on polished rolls to create the classic 2B surface. Every batch undergoes rigorous inspection including eddy-current testing and AI visual systems. Third-party certification (SGS, TUV, BV) is available for all standards.

For customers requiring the same high-quality material in coil form, we recommend our a240 Type_430 stainless steel sheetor JIS G4305 SUS 430 stainless steel sheet.

Key Advantages of Gangsteel 430 2B Sheet

  • Economical yet durable– nickel-free composition keeps pricing stable
  • Excellent formability– high ductility for complex stamping and bending
  • Superior thermal properties– higher conductivity and lower expansion than austenitics
  • Magnetic– easy handling in automated lines
  • Consistent surface quality– uniform matte finish with excellent corrosion resistance due to pickling
  • Full traceability– EN 10204 3.1/3.2 certificates available for every order

Compared with our EN10088 2 X6Cr17 stainless steel sheetor DIN 1.4016 stainless steel sheet, the 2B finish offers the same performance at the most competitive price.

Wide Range of Applications

430 2B sheet is the material of choice for:

  • Household appliances (refrigerator liners, washing machine panels, microwave ovens)
  • Food processing equipment (countertops, sinks, utensils)
  • Architectural cladding and elevator interiors
  • Automotive interior trim and exhaust components
  • Industrial heat exchangers and conveyor systems
  • Solar panel frames and signage

For Chinese-standard projects, we also supply the identical material under GB/T 10Cr17 1Cr17 stainless steel sheet.
